Hurricane Irma is impacting our area. We are already starting to experience outages due to the storm. Due to heavy internet activity on our Smarthub app and website our internet is are running slow. We will provide updates on our Hurrican Irma tab on our website.A storm of this size and magnitude can cause wide spread outages that can last for weeks. Please avoid all flood areas and keep away from downed power lines. If you experience a power outage or see downed power lines, please call your local Cooperative office at:

EOC Weather Alert - Hurricane Irma #11   September  10, 2017 
SITUATION
A Hurricane Warning and a Storm Surge Warning is in effect for Hernando County. Irma is a Category 3 hurricane with sustained winds of 120 mph, moving west-northwest at 9 mph.
Hernando County remains under a mandatory evacuation order for all areas west of U.S. 19.

Now is the time to locate shelter with family or friends that reside in a safe structure. Shelters are also available at the following locations:
• Challenger K-8 School of Sciences and Mathematics (special needs only): 13400 Elgin Blvd. Spring Hill, FL 34609
• Explorer K-8: 10252 Northcliffe Blvd. Spring Hill, FL 34608
• Nature Coast Technical High School: 4057 California St. Spring Hill, FL 34604
• West Hernando Middle School: 14325 Ken Austin Pkwy. Brooksville, FL 34613
• Other previously announced locations have reached maximum capacity.

In order to prepare for the arrival of sustained tropical storm force winds that are expected to occur tomorrow, no additional requests for transportation to shelters will be accepted after midnight tonight. Make arrangements with friends or family in the area to seek safe shelter.

RECOMMENDED ACTIONS
• All residents west of U.S. 19, as well as mobile homes countywide, need to evacuate.
